A woman who has never worn makeup has revealed that she even goes bare-faced to weddings, a fact which those around her are envious of.

Dee Tobi, 26, hasn’t even been tempted to try a low-key makeup look involving mascara or concealer, even though her friends and family have tried to encourage her for fun.

On average, a British woman spends £18,000 on makeup and beauty across her lifetime; as such people like Dee, who don’t wear it, are saving themselves thousands.

Likewise, ‘no makeup days’ are becomingly increasingly popular on TikTok – not just for skincare reasons, but to save money, as taking a break from using products lengthens their lifespan.

Dee spends less than half an hour getting ready to leave the house, whether preparing for work or a night out.

She describes herself as a ‘girly girl’, but hasn’t yet had the urge to try makeup and continues not to wear it. For her, embracing her natural skin is an empowering decision.

‘I’ve never worn makeup and I don’t own a single piece of makeup,’ Dee shares.

‘My friend recently had a wedding and I didn’t put on makeup – everyone was looking super glam but I wouldn’t wear it. I’m a girly girl but I’ve just never worn it – it’s never been something I’ve felt I needed to use.’

Her friends have called her ‘lucky’ for going bare-faced, but Dee’s choices simply come down to preference.

Dee adds: ‘It’s just that I like the natural look

‘I think it’s really empowering to feel you don’t need to wear it at any point.

‘No mascara, no concealer, even if there’s a spot – it’s empowering to say no, I’m natural how God made me.’

However, she may be tempted to try some out for a special occasion one day (Picture: Dee Tobi/SWNS)

The 26-year-old thinks she’d look completely different wearing it, and while she feels no pressure to do so at the moment, she may give it a try at some point, perhaps for a special occasion.

‘You have to stick to what you believe in no matter what – situations where people say I have to wear makeup and I say no, that’s powerful,’ Dee concludes.

‘My friends say I should try it because I’d look different, I think they’d be excited to see how I look in it – if I wore it my friends would be shocked.

‘I know if I wear it, it’ll give me a different look but I’ve just not tried it and as time goes by I continue not to wear it.’
